Avon Sponsors the Thrills of Japfest
The popularity of high performance Japanese cars is on the rise and this May 17 sees the first major show dedicated entirely to them – JapFest 2003, sponsored by Avon Tyres.
Thousands of tuned and modified Japanese sports cars are expected to attend JapFest, which is being held at the Castle Combe race circuit in Wiltshire, just down the road from Avon’s Melksham factory. Japanese cars clubs will be out in force with their gleaming and extreme machinery.
The car clubs won’t be alone in showing their wares – Avon Tyres will also have a stand at JapFest, complete with its full range of high performance tyres (including a couple of dedicated track day tyres) and some modified Japanese cars of its own.
In addition to stands selling all manner of tuning components for Japanese cars, JapFest will also feature a mobile rolling road so that attendees can find out just how much power their car really has. And for those looking for the ultimate in thrills and fun, on-track sessions will be run throughout the day.
Commenting on Avon’s involvement in this exciting event, the company’s Brand Marketing Manager, David Carson, said: "There’s been phenomenal growth in the Japanese tuning scene over the last five years or so, and JapFest represents a keen expression of that rising interest. It’s a vibrant high-performance marketplace and therefore a natural event for Avon Tyres to be associated with."
